Immigration Rules with regard to proposed civil partner visa changed on 9 July 2012 and new rules apply to any application made on or after 9 July 2012.You can apply for proposed civil partner visa if you are coming to the UK in order to register your civil partnership with a person present and settled in the UK. After a person has entered the UK as a proposed civil partner, he/she should register his/her civil partnership before the expiry of his/her proposed civil partner visa so that he/she can then apply for leave to remain as a civil partner from inside the UK.
